1st December and Xmas is really on it's way

Good morning!

The 1st December is here and so it is officially summer and also Xmas is only 25 days away!  I must say I love summer and the promise of those warm night where you sit around with family and friends around a BBQ enjoying the warmth and the company.  Lots of lazy days and weekends of BBQ's give me a good warm feeling for the coming months.

Xmas can be a little stressful with so much expected of each of us, but you know what I just try to do what I can and I do not have great expectations of others and this usually means I am pleased with whatever people do.

If you have really high expectations of people particularly at this time of the year you can feel disappointed.  So give yourself a break and just focus on what you can achieve this Xmas and let the others worry about themselves.

As it is Summer we need to think about sun protection even more and focus on our skincare routine.  Keep it simple each day and then it is not a chore, it becomes more of a few minutes to indulge yourself and ensure your skin is looking its best.

I like to think of our skin are the canvas of our painting we do each day when we apply makeup..and that means a good quality canvas will produce the best painting.  So take a few minutes twice a day to look after your canvas!!

I have been wearing our Magical Brand of Tinted Moisturiser now for many weeks and I am loving the way my skin feels and looks each day.  No fuss it's all in the one tube and our customers are telling me they love this product too.  It is only $9.99 a tube and it comes in 3 shades.  It is actually a BB cream which are now taking the Australia market by storm as they help with agitated and blemished skin. Our cream has a good SPF of 30 as well so your covered all round.  It is in our Specials Store at the low price of $9.99.  We can do it for that price because we import directly from China ourselves.

I hope the next few weeks are fun with lots of good wishes and parties!!   Our plan is to be a lot more frequent with the blogg to keep you all posted on actions and some good news stories all revolving around makeup, hair and fashion..so stay tuned.

If you are not signed up to the news letter or facebook you may have missed out on the Limecrime Sale notice..so sign up to one of them today.  Our home page has the facebook link and our news letter link too.

Happy Shopping and remember we do GIFT VOUCHERS FOR YOUR XMAS SHOPPING!

Learn About Makeup Colour selection!

Knowing how to understand or select makeup colours has always been a mystery to us mere mortals.  Well this video will help you know what the secrets are in very simple terms...please let us know if you found this helpful.  I know I did!  cheers Jill

Kindle - do you have one yet?

I bought a Kindle around 3 months back and I just love  it.  I read a lot of books but was not sure I would like using a Kindle to read from but I have to say I really found the transition to this format so easy and now I dont go anywhere without my Kindle.

If you do not have one then I highly recommend the Kindle from Amazon as they have loads of books to download and they are not as expensive as hardcover books and they siply charhge your credit card.  They operate on 3G WiFi and a book downloads in seconds which is really impressive!  You can even get a sample of a book to see if you will like the book before you buy it.  How cool is that!

Check this offer out, I wish mine was colour and I wish I had purchased one with a light so consider that if you do look at buying one.

cheers

Jozelle Alginate & Vitamin E Mask -guest blogger review - Lizzi D

Good morning,  Here is another of our guest reviewers/bloggers views on a product that we sent to them to review for us.

Lizzie is in her 20's and her mother agreed to try the products as well which was fantastic.  Here is what they had to say about the mask.

Review

The mask itself was easy to make up once you got passed the technical terms used in the instructions,  I’m a scientist so I understood them fully but sadly I do not have access to a still at home to use distilled water, so given we are on tank water I opted for cooled boiled water as this was the purest I could manage.  Given the basis of the mask and the warnings about seafood allergies I expected a seaweedy smell at the very least but was pleasantly surprised to find it was just really clean smelling, light and fresh.

Application of the mask was easy and quite fun too, it was lovely and cooling when placed on the face, once it started to dry it began to tighten but it was a gentle tightening feeling rather than something harsh like a lot of peel off masks.  We waited a little while and then peeling off the mask time.  This bit was fun in a creepy way.  On the inside of the mask it was visible where it had been, every pore and line appeared.  On my skin it felt smooth and lovely but the real magic was when I took it off my mother’s 60+, somewhat sun damaged face and the difference was visible immediately.  The skin appeared lighter and certainly visibly smoother, any redness had gone and I certainly believe a few of the lines,  I was amazed.  Needless to say I jumped onto the computer to see how much this mask would set us back, I was pleasantly surprised to see it was not going to cost an arm and a leg.

Sadly the following morning most of the magic hard worn off but the smoothness and the lack of redness was still visible.  Given the time this mask took to make up, apply and use I was very pleased with the results and will certainly be buying it in the future.

Thanks Lizzie for the reivew!

Review of Magical brand Tinted Moisturiser by Guest Blogger Aryanny Zaini

Magical Tinted BB Cream Review by Guest Blogger Aryanny

Earlier this week we posted our Guest Blogger Aryanny Zaini's review of a brand of BB Tinted Moisturiser.

This is the second review conducted by Aryanny for Makeupnet on the new brand of Tinted Moisturiser called Magical - this comes in 3 shades.

We want to say a very big thank you to Aryanny again for her honest review of these products!

Magical BB Cream SPF30+ (40ml) - RRP$9.99
Tinted Foundation, tinted bb cream, Tinted Foundation, tinted bb cream, Tinted Foundation, tinted bb cream, Tinted Foundation, tinted bb cream

tinited skincare

tinted moisturiser

What "Magical BB Cream" says:
  *  Extract of five grains, soothes sensitive skin and smoothen the texture.
  *  Super multi BB cream functions as a primer, foundation and powder. It visibly reduces imperfections, smoothes skin and prevents makeup from smudging.
*  A "water-in-silicon" type, this cream based product glides on without irritating skin. It's non-oily formula, fresh on skin all day long.
  *  Protects the skin from harmful UV rays.

This is what Aryanny had to say about the brand:

As it didn't come with a box or even any information of the product on the tube itself, I had to Google and after half an hour, found some information as described above. They only have a list of ingredients on the tube.
This comes in a 40ml squeezy tube. Currently this range has three different shades and the one I'm reviewing is shade "3".

This reminds me a lot like a tinted moisturiser. It is really creamy and light. It is also easy to apply and blends beautifully. Minimal effort to get decent coverage. It does have a slight scent to it. It's hard to describe, but smells a bit "cosmetic" like. This is of course not noticeable when worn.  It surprisingly has good coverage, it even covered my dark circles.

Lasting power on this, is excellent.
It did not rub off or smudged itself at all. With the warmer tone in this shade, it left no chalkiness or grey tones on me whatsoever. It is just a little pink on my warm skintone, but nothing a little bronzer could not fix.

As from the product description, this is definitely a no-fuss cream. Sometimes I'm hesitant in using a product when it lists too many uses and benefits, like they're trying to "convince" you to buy it. I have tried to use this as a primer too and it worked beautifully. Made my makeup stay put all day and kept it fresh & long lasting. Having said that, I have dry skin, so I can't vouch for people with oily or combination skin.

Overall conclusion: I highly recommend this product as your first BB cream. It really is easy to use, feels light and natural on the skin. It even worked excellently with my warm skin tone, so I am confident there's a shade to suit everyone.

Would I purchase this? Yes, most definitely. Even for $9.99, I can not fault this product at all as it delivered everything it said and more.

This brand is on sale at www.makeupnet.com.au in the On Sale Shop at $9.99 a tube.

BB Caroline Tinted Moisturiser

Hi everyone,
Recently we asked people to nominate to try some of our new BB Creams.  Some we had not decided on selling as yet and thought we would go out and ask some of our customers & facebook fans to nominate themselves to be the testers.

We were blown away with the responses from the fans which was very exciting, however we chose Aryanny Zaini to be our reviewer.

We sent Aryanny 2 different types of BB Tinted creams to try and here is her first review of the Beautiful Caroline Brand of cream.  We will post the Magical Review in the coming days...love to hear you comments please.

BB Creams

Here is her honest review

Beautiful Caroline BB Cream SPF30+ (50ml) - RRP$14.99

Now I was really excited to try my first ever BB cream as I have heard and read a few online reviews. From what I understand, BB creams are supposed to be treatment products, meaning they're suppose to actually heal and promote healthier skin conditions. For those who are wondering what BB stands for, it's Blemish Balm. Yes, I find it funny it's a Blemish Balm cream too.

What "Beautiful Caroline BB Cream" says:

It leaves a radiant, clear and healthy complexion with flawless and natural finish with rosemary scent. It has total revitalising effect of hydrating, anti-wrinkle, nourishing and brightening benefits. It evens out skintone with velvety smooth texture and conceals blemishes, discolouration areas on face including acne, age spots, dark circles, sun spots and scars.

Key features:  Whitening effect

                     Anti wrinkle

                     Moisture supply

                     Skin protection

                     Natural skin tone

                     Soothing effect

                     Sebum control

What I say:

Before I go on describing the product, I'll give a quick rundown of my skin type and condition, as we all know everyone is different, where one product can work for one person might not work for the next.

* I have dry sensitive skin

* Moderate dark circles

* Makeup shades commonly used: MAC NC44, "tan", "warm", "medium"

So from the above, I have quite warm undertones and tan easily. I am also considered to come under the "medium-dark" category in some brands too.

From the product description, I had huge expectations. It covers scars!? Wow! This product reminds me a little of Invisible Zinc. I can tell there's a lot of zinc in it, as it has that "sunscreeny" difficulty in applying it. Having said that, it does not have any of the greasiness that comes with most sunscreens. It comes in a squeezy tube with 50ml of product.

From what I can tell, there's no scent whatsoever, so I am not sure what the rosemary scent is about as described above. It really is fragrance free. As you already know with my warm skintone, this product looks very chalky on me. It leaves that grey tone on me. I had to pop heaps of bronzer for it to look remotely natural on me.

While it was on, it does feel natural and light. It also didn't rub off during the day. With their claims of covering acne, age spots, dark circles, sun spots and scars, this is simply not true. Not even close. This cream has minimal pigmentation and colour, it didn't even cover my dark circles let alone scars and acne.

As it has quite substantial amount of zinc in it, I can only imagine it would be more suitable with people who come under the "porcelain" and "ivory" skintones. For everyone else, be prepared to use a bronzer over the top, to minimise chalkiness.

Overall conclusion: All in all, I can't fault the product itself. With a huge SPF, this is a must in Australia and this is perfect for that reason. It is easy to use, light in texture, sits easily on skin and lasts all day without it rubbing off. If it came in more realistic shades, I'd probably like it more. Would I purchase it? No I wouldn't as I feel it did not benefit me at all.

We appreicate the efforts Aranny has gone to - thank you so much!

Tell us about your experience with BB Creams?

Self Esteem is so Important - we are all beautiful inside so believe it

The Bellaboo skincare company created this video cause they are about people, not just about selling skincare, they truly do care about how you feel about yourself.  I totally agree with them, it is really important to work on how we all feel inside about ourselves, this is way more important than anything else.  Looking good can help us feel confident, but it is what is on the inside that shines though to the outside world.  I hope you love yourself?

Customer review of Bellaboo Chocoalte Sin Mask

We asked Lucy Wang one of our customers to review the Bellaboo Chocolate Sin Mask and here is what she had to say.

When I first heard the word “chocolate” and “mask” in the same sentence when this product was mentioned I just knew I had to get it! Who said chocolate was only for eating?

The packaging of the product is very simple and cute – aiming at the younger generation from 12 – 30. When I first opened the bottle the first thing I noticed was the lovely fragrant smell of mint chocolate (my favourite!). The smell was so yummy that I just wanted to lick up the whole bottle!

The mask itself has a very smooth consistency. It is easy to apply – just apply a thick layer over the face allow it to dry (10 minutes or so) and then wash off. After I applied the mask, I had to resist the urge to lick my face. It looks and smells good enough to eat, but be sure to only feed your face with this chocolate/peppermint skin treatment. Resist your cravings girls! I loved the feeling that the mask gave me whilst I had it on. There was a tingling sensation which was very cooling and relaxing.

Once I washed my mask off I could instantly feel a difference in my skin. It felt much smoother, looked a lot brighter and my skin was definitely more hydrated. I would definitely recommend this face mask to anyone who’s looking for a guilt-free chocolate fix and just a relaxing yet yummy mask for smooth, soft skin!

Head over to www.makeupnet.com.au to grab yourself one today!

Go to the Bellaboo skincare shop if you want to try this one for yourself- they are on sale right now. Cheer and thanks so much Lucy for your views.

Friday and Movies!

Well here we are it is the end of the week and we have a busy Friday with lots of packages to get into the post and then we are looking after our beautiful little guy Caelan.  Caelan is 2 years old and very cute. He is coming to spend a few hours later today so his big sister Jordyn and her Mum can go the movies to see Wog Boys.  I look forward to hearing the review of the movie, it sounds like a bit of fun.
I am hearing that the Sex in the City movie is not all that good?  Have you heard?  Post your review on that one if you have seen it or Wog Boys please as it might save me a trip to the movies!

Do movies inspire you to go out and do things?  What I mean is if you see Sex in the City do you feel like you need to go out shopping for new gear, makeup or shoes?  I find that I can be influenced by movies...sometimes..not always.  Love to hear if you did something out of the ordinary after seeing a movie?

See I would love to rush out and buy an outfit like this!  These are shots of Sarah Jessica Parker from the London premier of the movie

Get A Facelift In 60 Seconds? Yes You Can!

skincare, cosmetics
I wanted to show this brand of Face Lift skincare to you as I have actually tried this one and it really does do what it says.  If you apply it lightly to the areas on your face where you have some wrinkles you will find that they will tighten up and the skin will become very smooth.

I have to say I was very shocked when it actually worked, but it did and my skin looked really young!   If you don't over do it the product actually works better and feels better.  Your skin will feel tight which is what it is supposed to do and you just put your makeup over the top and off you go to your special day or night out.

Have you ever tired any other skin tightening products?  Did they work for you?  This one really does work, so if your looking for this type of product I can say it worked for me.

Cheers

False Eye Lashes

Facelift in a bottle

I love False Eye Lashes and always have, a few years back I would not have gone outside the front door without my lashes on!

Then the makeup trend was for a more natural look so the world went all natural looking and the average person stopped wearing false eye lashes.
However, every single advertisement you see for Mascara is presented on a model that is wearing false lashes, so don't be fooled by the ads.  If you want to have really thick glamorous lashes then you need to wear false lashes.

As I said I have always loved false lashes so when I found this history of the False Eyes Lashes I just had to share it with you..read on..
.

History - Beauty legend has it that American movie director D.W. Griffith designed the first set of false eyelashes. While creating a motion picture in 1916, he wanted his leading lady to have lashes so long they graced her cheeks when she blinked or looked down thoughtfully.

A wig maker set to work creating the lashes out of human hair and gauze, and the result was movie magic. Unfortunately the film itself was not, and the screenplay became forgettable. However, the false lashes were remembered to the misfortune of Griffith who never formally made a claim to their fame and had his idea simulated, stolen, and altered in the decades to come.

Since 1916, there have been plenty of leading ladies and celebrities who used false eyelashes. Twiggy is an example of someone in the public spotlight who used falsies in the way that they were intended. Others unfortunately have not, picture Tammy Faye Baker & Liza Minnelli for example. False eyelashes are almost an art when it comes to appropriate use and application, therefore it takes time and patience to learn the trade.

LADY GAGA

I have to admit that I am a Lady Gaga fan, she can sometimes push the limit with her costumes and leave me a little cold, but mostly I love the way she looks and her music and I like to hear what she has to say.  She has worked very hard to create the persona that she projects and she deserves all her rewards.

I loved this picture of her and had to share it here, I love the eyes, I love a smokey look and this is perfect.  The outfit is brilliant and the cup of tea, such a contrast.

Weddings & What to Wear

Today we are off to a Wedding at the Botanical Gardens and then Fitzroy Gardens.  I hope the weather stays good for the service!  I don't know about you but I always seem to agonise about what I am going to wear to a Wedding?  Some people really dress up for a Wedding and others the complete opposite.  So my guess is that anything goes at most Weddings these days?

What do you think about Weddings and what is appropriate to wear?

The invitation says 'No Denim' which surprised me as I would not have thought anyone would even consider wearing denim to a wedding?

Would you?

I'll let you know how the wedding went and if it does not rain a wreck my hair post a few pics from the wedding.

Cheer and have a Brilliant weekend.

This seasons trend in makeup - are we clear on what that is?

I dont' know about you but there is a lot of conflicting information on the TV and in the Fashion magazines about the coming seasons trends in makeup.   Bloggers are all over the shop on what the trends are as well.

I think it is fun to look at all the guidance these mediums have to offer and then make up your own style and go with that.   Being individual in your appearance I think can make you the envy of others who are slaves to the trends and fashion.

You often hear that 'so and so has their own distinctive style' this is often used in fashion magazines and TV fashion shows and it is a reflection of someones ability to be themselves and set their own trends in fashion and makeup.

I have always taken tips and hints and then added them to my style which has not changed a lot over the years - so don't be afraid to be be "YOU" and show your own fashion style and trend this season and for all seasons.

Have fun with your fashion and Makeup!   Have all the girlfriends talking about your style!   Stand out in the crowd as a Individual.   Send me your pics of your style and we will publish them!

email them to jill.nolan@makeupnet.com.au and watch for them!

Bellaboo Skincare

This new range of skincare was designed to specifically address the skincare issues that girls from the age of 12 to 30 encounter.  The range has products to address all the needs of this age group and it was created and designed by teens for teens, how cool is that.  Teens know what that want and what they like so this should mean the range of products meet their needs.

The prices are all about the $15.00 mark so very affordable and it is a good thing to get girls to start to look after their skin as soon as we can.  There are some great products to assist with the blemishes that we girls get from time to time..so check them out when they arrive in the next week.

WHOLESALE SHOP ONLINE

We are streamling our wholesale store and the retail store to make it easier to shop directly.  Over the coming weeks we will create sub menues for foundation, blushers, eye pigments, brushes, finishing powders and eye pencils.

In the next few weeks we will also be adding Pencil Me In eye pencils that come in 30 different colours.  They are the best quality pencil I have EVER used and I think I have used them all!!  Most break when you sharpen them, some do not have a lot of colour, and some dry out.  Pencil Me In eye pencils do none of these things!  The top is a sharpener and they are extra long also.  One pencil used every day has lasted me over 6 months!
If you would like to ask about the pencils, leave a comment here or email us.

NEWS FROM CLINELLE

Hello,

We have had almost 6,000 visitors to our web site which is very exciting!  We have added some great shopping partners for you to shop with also.

Clinelle continues to prove itself as a great skin care range, with customers telling me their friends ask what are you doing that makes you look so great..and the only thing they have done differently is use Clinelle.

I often receive questions from customers of some tips to help with their skin care - one of the main things I really promote is the cleansing of the skin.  If you have the time and your really focused on your skin, cleansing it twice is the best thing to do.  Splashing your skin also with cool water at the end of the cleansing cycle also closes off the pores in the skin.

After Cleansing twice, I really suggest you use a good scrub at least 3 times a week to get rid of the dead skin cells and help to prompte the growth of new skin cells.

Another great tip - I have found that - Chucks - yes Chucks!! Are really good for taking off makeup!  I cut them up into smaller pieces and use them and then discard them, use them wet!.  You might need to try this for yourself, but I found it really helps to take off the eye makeup better than anything else I have tried. Let me kow if you have another great tip??

Let me know what you think about Clinelle - its price? and quality?  I would love to get more feedback
